This ‘managers in development’ course includes various ingredients that contribute to Management Vitality. This course takes account of the prior knowledge of the target group and is especially aimed at high potentials who wish to develop their leadership.

Methodology

 

During this practical training you will learn how to master new skills and attitudes. You will be actively involved and, via various assignments, will be able to immediately implement the learnt skills in the day-to-day running
of your company. Modules are always linked to and practiced within your personal company situation, whereby theory is immediately transferred into daily practice.

After this process, you will have a solid work tool which is customised to your company. Because you will be part of a homogenous group, you will be able to exchange experiences with and learn from other participants.
This offers a huge qualitative advantage. It is a yardstick for your management which opens up new opportunities.
Because behaviour and habit changes are only realised via repetition and continuity, the ‘ManagementVitality™’ process should last a full year, with one theme being examined per month.

The underlying strength

The underlying strength of this process is each person's individual business strategy and the link to Selfcoaching® applications.

 

  • You will primarily work with your own company circumstances.
  • During each module you will use your personal profile analysis. This will help you to develop your knowledge and experience in dealing with different types of behaviour.
  • Before each module you will receive an assignment which will make you more familiar with the module. This will make you consider things in advance and will ensure you arrive prepared for the session.
  • After each assignment you will receive a follow-up assignment which encourages you to immediately put learnt skills into practice. At the same time, a mutually-agreed follow-up system will be established.

Our ingredients

The ingredients for a successful team

During this multi-day residential course you and the team will discover the ingredients that are essential for creating a successful team. This multi-day course contains the following elements:

  • A thorough personal profile analysis possibly followed by a team analysis.
  • Outdoor simulation training: the information received via the analysis is processed into a customised multi-day outdoor training course. Using various assignments, simulations are created in accordance with real teamwork points and objectives. In these outdoor assignments, team roles become more recognisable and the impact of particular behaviour on other team members becomes apparent. You will obtain an insight into existing team behaviour and you will be given the opportunity to practice future team behaviour. This allows you to observe the impact on team members and the team coach.
  • Constructive feedback: feedback from the trainer, throughout the various assignments, helps you to understand your behaviour and that of others.

Selfcoaching for managers

A manager must be able to effectively deal with stress, motivate himself and have an insight into his personal growth and development capacities.

In addition, a manager only fully realises results and success when he possesses the skills to convert his own short-comings, doubts or fears into positive challenges. Being a manager only really becomes a real challenge when things go wrong, when the turnover target is not met, when important decisions are required, when strategic and progressive thinking is needed, …

Have you noticed how the best ideas often come when it is too late, or how your reaction towards a co-worker is not always as you would have liked, or how you wind yourself up when you were determined to stay calm? Coaching-style leadership

In addition to a supervisor role, managers are increasingly having to become the coach of their teams. He must now be aware of the talents that are present and lacking within his group. To develop competence in this new role, you must first master a few specific techniques and skills.
In this module we offer you some essential basic elements:

  • When should you coach and when should you adopt another style?
  • How does one conduct a coaching discussion?
  • What is the importance of positive feedback?
  • How does one conduct a confrontational discussion?
  • How do you ensure depth and concrete results?

Evaluation discussions

An evaluation discussion is an excellent tool for guiding and following people up in a constructive manner, so that departmental and company objectives are successfully realised and the required individual development is ensured.

  • (divide company objectives into sub-objectives)
  • making firm agreements

Time-management

Changing your time management starts with gaining an insight into your time use and feeling for time. It requires you to change your habits and your convictions. Because these differ greatly per individual, you also receive various techniques and approaches that allow you to immediately make a start in function of your own needs.

On-going conflicts with or among co-workers are a chronic threat to the performance of an organisation. It is thus very important for you to quickly resolve and prevent conflicts.

Effective meetings & decision-making

Meeting sickness is a particularly costly condition. Together we examine the secrets of lively and successful meetings. Everything is presented in a practical immediately-applicable manner so that meetings will never involve 'a bunch of people talking at the same time'! We start with the difficulties you have experienced and develop all the skills you will require to overcome them.

As manager you are your company's calling-card to the outside world. Therefore it is very important to regularly present your company in a positive manner. A speech to clients, visitors or prospective clients in which you, as manager, present the advantages of your products/services, will be the icing on the cake.
Presenting professionally is an art form in itself, and is observed by many people.
During this module you will master practical skills that will help you in:

  • speaking fluently and convincingly in front of a group
  • conveying a clear message in a captivating manner
  • controlling stress and fear of speaking

Motivation

The art of positively (continuously) motivating your co-workers contributes to positive results throughout your company. You, as manager, are the starting point for engendering enthusiasm among your co-workers.
In this module we focus on:

  • self-motivation: how to motivate yourself as manager
  • a practical exercise about open, clear and motivational communication
  • how to better involve your co-workers
  • is play allowed on the work-floor
  • how to motivate someone using the DISC profile

Moment of reflection

To conclude the ManagementVitality™ programme, we address the notion of ' a healthy mind in a healthy body’.
This final residential module offers you the following components:

  • the importance of relaxtion in effective management
  • insights into stress and stress signals
  • dealing with stress among your co-workers
  • an adventurous and relaxing team activity (surprise)
  • exchange of experiences

Personal coaching

Because you probably also have very personal questions and needs, at least one individual coaching session has been scheduled during the development programme. You determine when you would like to schedule the session and where the coaching should take place.
